The 2nd round of the Austrian Electric Touring Car Championship took place in Steyregg near Linz, Upper Austria on Sunday, May 29, 2005. It was an extremly hot weekend with air temperatures up to 37°C and track temperatures up to 58°C, making hard demands on tires and motors. The importance of choosing the right tire inserts was higher than average and was a key for fast laptimes and continous grip over the 5 minutes on this very technical track.
The current Austrian Champion, Hupo Honigl, dominated all qualifying heats in front of Toni Eder, Austria's #5 driver in 2004.

Peter Pinisch (ASSO TC4), normally a fix-starter in A-finals, had a peck of trouble with interference and finished only one qualifying heat. He capitulated after the qualifying.

Hupo Honigl dominated the finals and won with two 1st places, followed by Toni Eder, who drove his 2nd race with his XRAY T1FK´05 and Michael Kramer, also with an XRAY T1FK´05.
